Rainbow Turkeys

Ryan is home from school today... the school prefers that you do not send a child to school who has run a fever or been physically ill within 24 hours...so lucky for him, even though he felt back to normal he got a free day. I believe in keeping our germs to ourselves if possible. I sure wish others did too.

We retrieved his work from school this morning, and dropped off his disguised turkey project that was due...and honestly I was expecting a little more school work to keep us busy during the day.

Since the homework took all of twenty minutes, I had to get creative... and decided a group turkey project was in order.

All moms have a drawer full of poster board scraps and multi-colored feathers right?

Turkey assembly was a hit...for about 20 minutes. These kids have skill! I could not even stretch the project out with "ok, time to let the glue dry." We seriously need a bigger, more time consuming project... The kids were in charge of the turkeys, and I was in charge of the sign. I think they are awesome in a multi-colored avante garde kind of way... Who said turkeys have to be orange and brown?

Now, I have a date in the living room floor...to play Squinkies.  I hope another project comes to mind soon or this is going to be a nerve wracking day!
